Parking:

Sponsors and the general public are to park in the East Parking Lot located in front of the Expo Center. Both entrances have a roundabout that can be used to drop guests off, if necessary. Handicap parking is also available.

Golf Carts will be available to pick-up PH recipients and their guests.

What is the attire for the dinner? What should I wear?

The event itself is formal. The attire will be more semi-formal or business dress, so many will wear a jacket and tie while others will wear old military uniforms, jeans, or their “Sunday Best”. Above all, we want you to be comfortable.

What time does the dinner start?

Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. There will be a 4 p.m. reception for Purple Heart recipients only followed by dinner at 5 p.m. for all in attendance.

Where is the dinner?

The dinner will take place in the Expo Center of the Crown Coliseum. Address: 1960 Coliseum Drive Fayetteville, NC 28306

Is there handicap parking?

Yes, handicap parking is located near each entrance. (The West VIP Lot for Purple Heart recipients only and the East Parking Lot located in front of the Expo Center for sponsors and the general public.) There are also two roundabout drop-off points at each entrance.

What if I have a food allergy?

Please contact Andrea Tebbe prior to the dinner in order to notify us of special dietary needs. We will do our best to accommodate you.

What if I didn’t RSVP?

If you are a Purple Heart recipient – we want to thank you! All are welcome.

How many guests can I bring?

Purple Heart recipients can bring one guest at no cost to them. Gold Star Mothers and one additional guest will be sponsored by the Fort Bragg Purple Heart chapter. One ticket is provided to those representing an individual killed in action.

How much do extra tickets cost?

Additional tickets cost $25 per person

Do I have to belong to a local MOPH chapter to attend the dinner?

No. We will verify the validity of each Purple Heart recipient.

Will I have to make a speech?

No – Purple Heart recipients will participate in a Walk of Honor and will be escorted to their table without having to speak.

Where do I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets online or through a member of the Sandhills Purple Heart Committee.

How can I donate?

You can donate online or by making a check payable to The Sandhills Purple Heart Dinner. Checks should be mailed to: 439 Westwood Shopping Center PMB-138 Fayetteville, NC 28314.

Which family member can represent a deceased PH recipient?

The representative must be an immediate family member – mother/father – brother/sister, etc.

Can a family member participate in the Walk of Honor?

No – PH recipients needing assistance will be escorted by ROTC cadets through the Walk of Honor.
